Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor. He moved to the US by way of Germany in the early 20th century and found his way to portraying the titular role of Dracula in Broadway adaptation of the book. This eventually led to Lugosi landing the role in the motion picture version as well. This cemented his legacy as one of the first horror celebrities.
