Black Sabbath was a heavy metal band from Birmingham, UK founded in 1968. The four piece, originally featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, and Geezer Butler, helped solidify the sound of metal, bringing a new take on heavy rock that has since proven influential for a myriad of heavy music genres. The lineup changed many times, bringing in different singers like Rainbow's Dio and Deep Purple's Ian Gillian, and they released 19 albums in total.
