Megadeth are a Grammy-winning, Los Angeles-based thrash metal band founded in 1983 by Dave Mustaine after he was kicked out of Metallica. The band is still active to this day, as they have never really stopped releasing records and touring. They are a part of metal's "big four" alongside Metallica, Anthrax, and Slayer.
