Oscar Wilde was an Irish playwright. He wrote fully on board with aestheticism, which believed in the beauty of art over anything else. Wilde produced many works during his lifetime, including the novel The Picture Of Dorian Gray, but he is perhaps most well known for his two-year prison sentence because of his homosexual activities.
