Vintage Public Enemy "Def Jam '88" T-Shirt
Public Enemy are a rap group from New York founded in 1985, at a point when the entire genre was becoming mainstream. MCs Chuck D and Flavor Flavors took this opportunity to bring their message to the masses with songs that were explicitly political, discussing their experiences as Black men in America. They found fast success, their debut album Yo! Bum Rush The Show was certified Gold and its follow up, It Takes A Nations Of Millions To Hold Us Back, went Platinum and is now considered a classic. They are still active to this day, recording and touring consistently, having released over a dozen albums. This original Public Enemy shirt from 1988, lightly worn and faded in great condition, is from the early days of their career.
