Vintage Slayer "World Sacrifice" '88 Tour T-Shirt
Thrash metal legends Slayer released their fourth album South Of Heaven on the Def Jam label in 1988. The California four-piece had blown up with their previous album, Reign In Blood. Reign In Blood was their major label debut and was their first time working with producer Rick Rubin. Slayer re-defined thrash and had to find a new way to approach their music. They acknowledged that they couldn't make a RIB 2 and went in a different direction, a slower and darker sound. That's not to say it wasn't hard, Tom Araya, Kerry King, Jeff Hanneman, and Dave Lombardo were just as ferocious as ever, it was just at a slower tempo. South Of Heaven has since been certified Gold. This original Slayer shirt from 1988, nicely faded and worn, is from their World Sacrifice Tour in support of South Of Heaven.
