The English new wave had formed over two decades prior and rose to impressive heights, selling millions of copies worldwide. However, after a decade of success, Curt Smith, co-lead singer and bassist, left the band for nearly a decade. He came back to join Roland Orzabal at the turn of the 21st century but their first new music didn't arrive until Everybody Loves A Happy Ending, which brought the band back together and pleased long-time fans and critics alike.
